Free Shipping?

Most of the countries are covered, however there are a few of exceptions because it is crucial that the package is shipped with a tracking number that works from origin to destination. Unfortunately not all the countries offer this service and it is necessary to ship with UPS, therefore I need to ask an extra fee. If you live in a country that is not listed, contact me and I will take a look if shipping is possible with UPS for a decent cost.

EU-Friendly, what does it mean?

The packages for EU backers are shipped from Germany, this means that they will receive the package faster than usual, without the delays created by the customs, and NO import fees to pay at all. Great Britain is leaving EU (Brexit), and I do not know if the EU-friendly shipping applies. Agreements between GB and EU are not signed, so I suppose that it stays as it is now. No idea!

From where the packages will be shipped?

From Texas packages go to: USA, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, China, Australia, New Zealand and others (see Shipping Info chapter on the campaign page) From Germany packages go to EU and other non-EU countries (Switzerland, Norway, Iceland etc).

What is SEK?

SEK is the Swedish currency: Swedish Crowns. The symbol for SEK is kr, as the symbol for USD is $, and the symbol for EUR is €. Kickstarter does not allow me to have the campaign in USD, so I have to use the local currency since I am based in Stockholm, Sweden. $1 USD = approx 10 SEK So, when you see 500 SEK, it is roughly $50 USD. Remove a zero and it is fast. Kickstarter should convert to your local currency automatically. If confused use google to convert currencies.

Delivery estimated for August? So late?

Based on the experience acquired from my previous kickstarter campaign, yes. Production is often delayed by the manufacturer and if one cogwheel gets stuck, the whole process slows down. It is not just one manufacturer involved, so it is a complex task that needs its time.

What is gilding? (If stretch goal is unlocked)

For key master tarot the gilding process is handmade in France, through Cartamundi. The 4 side of the deck are finely sanded and a coat of golden paint is applied. Being a handmade process, it is possible that you see imperfections.

How a tarot deck is structured?

For those that feel unfamiliar with a tarot deck, just think of a poker size deck of 52 cards, then add 4 knights and 22 major arcana. A total of 78 cards in a non-poker-size format. Keymaster Tarot is 65x120mm. A tarot deck is made of 2 groups of cards: 22 cards major arcana (or trump cards) and 56 minor arcana. Within the minor arcana you have the number cards (from Ace to Ten), and the court cards (Page or Jack, Queen, Knight, King). The Major arcana are numbered from 0 (The Fool) to 22 (The World). Since I use Roman numerals, zero “0” is not written. The only Joker is actually The Fool. The majority of tarot decks have latin suits (wands, coins, swords, cups) and they correspond to the French ones (clubs, diamonds, spades, hearts). The Keymaster Tarot is a fusion where the latin suits become a golden sigil on the top of the correspondent card with French suit (8 of swords = 8 of spades). See the animation on the campaign page to understand how.

Why IIII instead of IV, and VIIII instead of IX?

It is a choice, and it is the additive formula. It is applied on Tarot De Marseille, not on Rider-Waite-Smith. After reading a book about Roman numerals on Tarot and the additive formula, I though to apply it to Keymaster as well. Tarots tend to add instead of deduct: they describe a progress and a growth.

What is “The House of the Rising Spade”?

It is a 2 year long project. The first set is made by 2 poker-size decks (Cartomancer and Faro) and they were launched in 2018 on Kickstarter. A couple of limited variants were made, too (Gatekeeper and Room17). Check the previous kickstarter campaign to learn more about The House of the Rising Spade: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/requiemcards/the-house-of-the-rising-spade-playing-cards/

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
